Hopefully, you'll get some new geek blood into the Twitter mix : ) And, thanks for the regards, my friend! ~ D

I find that mashable is one of the best follows. Good suggestions, might I also add that regardless of your geek quotient, twitter is fantastic for staying abreast of news (@cnnbrk, @huffingtonpost, @nprnews) keeping in touch with friends who are now regionally dispersed but once lived in close proximity, and getting great marketing deals! Real world examples?

- I tweeted about an SRP bill that magically got lost in the mail and what do you know, an SRP representative contacted me, billed back the late charges, and now follows my tweets

- Lunch at urban tea loft (in downtown chandler) 10\% off thanks to following their account on twitter!

- Free roller skating at United Skates of America (and a spiffy reusubale cup) just for following and tweeting them to let them know I was bringing my brother and nephew.

I could go on and on, but the truth is, the value in twitter is all what you choose to make it. While at the Grace Hopper Conference I connected with wonderful #GeekGirls who I now follow and would probably not have stayed in touch with were it not for twitter. Go technology!

Thanks for your illuminating article.

The idea for my article linked to here came out of a focus group I did with EE Times readers. Their reaction to this popular social networking tool was so negative I was curious whether it was merely one of those "group-think" things going on, or if a larger population of engineers felt the same.

The findings of our survey definitely skewed toward "not lovin' it." That of course doesn't prove that Twitter is or isn't useful.

But it does mean that it's going to take some powerful convincing to get the engineers who think it's a time suck to even consider it. I think your article is a good start, especially given the information you provide on the ways in which you've found it useful.

Thank you to have written such solid points to convince engineers to use Twitter. Twitter is one of the best online place to build a great community.
