Intel’s new Atom E3800 platform for IoT applications available with Embedded Board Planner
Intel’s brand new Atom™ platform, E3800 for Internet of Things applications is immediately available with Embedded Board Planner, Intel’s free online design tool to kick-off conceptual designs for Intel® Atom™ processor based platforms.
The E3800 product family (formerly Bay Trail) is the first system-on-chip (SoC) designed for intelligent systems, delivering outstanding compute, graphical, and media performance while operating in an extended range of thermal conditions. These SoCs are based on the Silvermont microarchitecture, utilizing Intel’s industry-leading 22nm process technology with 3-D Tri-Gate transistors, which deliver significant improvements in computational performance and energy efficiency.
Embedded Board Planner (EBP) enables board designers to plan components on an evaluation, standard or custom board format and estimate power budgets and losses, all online. Powerful web simulation technology allows preliminary thermal analysis to be completed in minutes. Customized schematics can be generated on the fly and downloaded for use with Altium® software. EBP's cloud-based technology enables anywhere, anytime access to designs with a web browser and easy collaboration with colleagues.
EBP supports several product families with the Intel Atom Platform including Rangeley (C2000 Series), Cedar Trail (N2000, D2000 Series), Queens Bay (E6xx Series) and Luna Pier (400 and 500 series).
