The G22 combines the latest Intel® Quad Core technology with the outstanding features of the CompactPCI® Serial standard: fast serial data transfer and full mesh capability without additional configuration overhead. Thanks to Intel®'s i7 processor with a frequency of 2.3 GHz, which can be increased to 3.3 GHz using the Turbo Boost functionality, the G22 is perfectly suited for applications requiring a high computing power, for example in transportation, industrial automation or power generation.
Using the BIOS, the processor frequency can also be stepped down in order to lower the power consumption (by default 45 W) and be able to use the board in higher temperatures.
The integrated graphics processor supporting a resolution of up to 2560x1600 px transfers the desired contents in HD quality via the two front DisplayPorts, which can also be used as an HDMI or DVI connection using an external adapter.
In addition, two Ethernet and two USB interfaces can be found at the front panel of the 3U board. At the rear, four USB 3.0, four USB 2.0, two 3rd generation SATA, three 2nd generation SATA, a Display or HDMI port, five PCI Express® x1, and two PEG x8 ports are provided. Using additional mezzanine modules four or all eight of the possible eight Ethernet interfaces specified in the CompactPCI® Serial standard can be led to the backplane.
Watchdogs for monitoring the processor and board temperature, soldering all components against shock and vibration, conformal coating for protection against dust and humidity, as well as support of a Trusted Platform Module for ensuring data security and of the Intel® Active Management Technology for easy maintenance, make the G22 single board computer a robust solution in safety-critical applications with high computing performance.
