Re: i210
Carlos_A Jan 9, 2018 8:06 AM (in response to M.Str)Hello, M.Str :
Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.
In order to help you with device ID consultation, please review the answer to the question 2.13 on page 7 of the Intel(R) Ethernet Controller I210/I211 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document # 335346.
On the other hand, the EEupdate and LANConf may help you to program MAC addresses. These tools are included in the Intel(R) Network Connections Tools document # 348742.
These tools can be downloaded when you are logged in to your Embedded Design Center (EDC) privileged account.
We hope that this information may help you.
Best regards,

M.Str Jan 8, 2018 2:45 AM (in response to Carlos_A)Hello,
with the tool „lanconf64.efi“, i can program the i210-iNVM.
This is a GUI-tool.
Now i have the problem to program the iNVM in our production with a EFi-CommandLine-Tool.
Can you tell me, what tool I should use to program the iNVM?
I think eeupdate is not able to program the iNVM
Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Re: i210
M.Str Jan 16, 2018 12:33 AM (in response to Carlos_A)Hello,
now we have only the iNVM, the external Flash is not present.
we programed the file "I210_Invm_SerDesKX_NoAPM_v0.6.txt" and the MAC-Adress with "lanconf64e.efi" to the i210.
now the deviceID is 8086-157C
with linux "lspci" we see "Ethernet Controller: Intel Corporation I210 Gigabit Backplane Connection (rev 3)"
with the tool "diags64e.efi", we can see the MAC-adress. When we use the same tool second, the MAC-adress is "00 00 00 00 00 00"
What is wrong?

Carlos_A Jan 16, 2018 10:55 AM (in response to M.Str)Hello, M.Str :
Thanks for your update.
In order to be on the same page, could you please tell us if the design has been developed by you or a third party company? In case that it is a third party design, could you please give us all the information related to it? If it has been developed by you, could you please let us know if it has been reviewed by Intel? By the way, could you please inform us know how many units have been manufactured? How many are failing? What is the failure rate? Also, could you please clarify us if you have made any modification to your design and let us know them in a detailed way?
Waiting for your reply with the information that should answer these questions.
Best regards,

Re: i210
M.Str Jan 23, 2018 11:14 PM (in response to Carlos_A)Hello,
we found the problem that we can only read the MAC-adress when we first start the diagnostic programm.
It was configured, that the iNVM data in not updated at SW-reset.
After that change the controller works.

Re: i210
M.Str Jan 29, 2018 11:15 PM (in response to Carlos_A)Hello Carlos,
we can progrm the iNVM with the tool eeupdate. This is ok.
Is it only possible to program the MAC in the iNVM with eeupdate /MAC=<adress>?
Or how can we put many MAC-adresses in a file and program the MAC-adress with this file?
Best regard Martin
